Closer to the Edge

The move from cloud computing to edge computing is in progress, and it has several benefits. One of the many reasons this is even possible is because devices today are stronger than ever, they are also cheaper to produce.

The progression towards edge computing is mainly driven by privacy and latency benefits for end-users of IoT devices. This can for example be through P2P connections between IoT devices, where latency is eliminated and data is under full control of the user. Read what our CEO has to say about edge computing:

“For example, instant notification in the case of a home alarm is the reason it is useful. Edge computing means data is stored at home with better latency to alert the user instantaneously to issues as they arise. Finally, bypassing cloud infrastructure also means there is one less server fee to pay.”
